# Privacy Settings

### Error Message

Query “Query name” references other queries or steps, so it may not directly access a data source.
 Please rebuild this data connection

### Solution

The privacy setting needs to be changed as follows:
 Go to Data tab >
 Click Get Data/New Query button >
 Select Query Options from the drop down
 In the pop up window that appears go to:

### Steps

#### Global Setting

1. Under the global section go to privacy option and change the privacy level to “Always ignore
    the privacy level settings”.

#### Current Workbook

1. Under the current workbook section go to privacy option and change the privacy level to “Ignore the privacy level and potentially improve performance”
